Proper compression performance in CPR can be the determining factor helping patients survive until responders arrive. 911 dispatchers can play a huge role in guiding callers through properly performing CPR.
Realizing how important this is, PowerPhone developed a CPR Compression Counter plug-in included in our Computer Aided Call Handling (CACH) Standard software as part of our Total Response call-handling solution. This tool is to help dispatchers keep callers focused on the proper performance of chest compressions while performing CPR.
How does it work? When clicked, the compression counter opens alongside the CPR procedure in CACH’s dynamic area window. To help the call taker guide the caller in the rhythm of compressions, an audio and visual “beat” counts out in four-second intervals. This feature helps reduce uncertainty or confusion during the most serious part of potentially life-saving calls.
Our CPR Compression Counter is just one of the latest developments we have made to support our ongoing mission of connecting people, processes and technology in a way that empowers public safety.
