Eight Mercer County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers have received certifications in PowerPhone’s Total Response system to support emergency medical dispatch.
Part of the PowerPhone program included upgrading the sheriff’s office from flip-cards to software that focuses on using a questioning process to quickly gather vital information to identify the priority of the call and the needed responder skills.
The Dispatch quotes Caryn Brokaw, Mercer County Sheriff’s Office Communications Supervisor as saying:
“There was a lot of benefits to the training, including being able to deliver better public service to our community and providing them with the assistance and tools as to what to do in an emergency situation.”
