One of the first calls we received that morning was of a possible incendiary device that had gone off in a field. We did not know at that moment that this call was tied to another coming in. While fire units were out investigating that call, we started hearing calls over the police radio of reported shots fired at the high school. Those calls and the chaos that was to unfold on April 20, 1999 would forever be known to the world as Columbine.
